I purchased this game while searching for “Tower Defense” games on the App Store. After looking at some of the screen shots I was sold on purchasing it. I bought it for $2 and started playing. After playing this repeatedly on the bus for three to four days I was able to reach a verdict.
I would like to start off by saying, this game is beautiful. I absolutely adore the artwork, and can only imagine the amount of time spent to create it. The game is a decent length for $2, and it has quite a few different maps. Each map has its own twists and turns, but strategy is not required to succeed at this game. Each tower has three stages, with the third obviously being the most powerful. The sprites for the monsters also look nice, and are not incredibly repetitive.
With all this being said, this game is by no means perfect. While all five towers may have three stages a piece, you reach the highest level tower rather quickly. There is no significant increase in power, and it feels like the money spent to upgrade them was for naught. The game just did not impress me, because there was not much to do. If there had been more content then the $2 might have been more justified.
For now I will simply say that if you really like tower defense games, there are better ones. If this game were to drop to $1 though, then I would definitely pick it up, if only for the art style in the game.
